I do not know of anyone that has used the screen that way but you could always try. The dry wall or paneling would have to be able to support a bit of weight since each screen weighs 30 pounds.

It might snag depending on the type of carpet but as long as your not forcing it into place when using it on carpet you should be ok.

The screen has a water based finish. You would need to strip the existing finish before painting or staining it.

Can a gust of wind knock it over?
I plan on using it in the entrance foyer of a restaurant where cold air blows in when you open the doors. It would be used to block the cold breeze from the dining area.

Question
How sturdy is it and how malleable is it?
I am looking to divide up my studio apartment so I can have the choice to keep my cat out of my bedroom (she is an impediment to sleep).

My two concerns are:
(1) Is this something a cat could knock over by pressing/leaning/clawing at it?

(2) How easy can you change the shape? I am thinking of getting 2 screens to block off a 13-foot area but would need some sort of door. Would it be easy to curl and uncurl at one end to use as a door?

The screen is designed to stand in a curving shape, so it would be easy to move as needed. The bamboo could be damaged easily by a cat clawing at it, so we wouldn't recommend using it in that setting.
