Compost Kit with Bokashi: Features section states: "Kit includes composter and 1 gallon bag of Bokashi. Additional bokashi refills available separately." Also, Description states: "One bag of bokashi is good for one bucket full of compost." Does that mean every fresh bucket full of waste requires 1 refill bag of Bokashi at $12?
I notice that a lot of "compost activator" products include peanut meal. With a severely allergic son, I can't consider bringing anything like that into the house. Does Bokashi contain peanut or nut products?
The Bokashi ingredients are as follows: Water, wheat bran, rice bran, molasses, EM-X ceramic powder and efficient microbes (EM) there are no peanut or nut products.
It is said that once the compost is ready it should be kept in room temperature for 7-10 days. Is it ok to transfer the contents to another container and, if so, should the new one be airtight, etc?
The compost “tea” smells similar to the original Bokashi you sprinkle in the container & has an earthy, slight sweet scent. You should dilute the tea (1 part tea to 100 parts water) before spraying on her garden, because the tea is acidic. No user has commented that it attracts animals.
